I can be ready in... [Oh no what's an appropriate amount of time that doesn't sound like she's trying too hard?] Ten minutes?

<sub>( There's some affirmation on this end, and then, 9 1/2 minutes later...

a knock, at the door. )</sub>

[charmspeaks]

[That's thirty seconds too early, Jason! But Piper still opens the door about half a second later, grinning.] Hey.

[ozones]

_{( Jason is actually grinning, looking much happier and less like a dying hamster than he has since power loss was a thing. )}

Hey, yourself. Ready to get a real look at this place?

[charmspeaks]

[Looking less like a dying hamster is always a good thing, in Piper's opinion. She steps outside, shutting the door behind her.]

More than ready. Give me the grand tour, Jason.

[ozones]

_{( He extends a hand, fulling planning on taking off, from here. )}

[charmspeaks]

[She takes his hand eagerly, threading her fingers through his. Yup, all ready to go.]

[ozones]

_{( And, taking her hand and looping his other arm firmly around her waist, he launches them both skyward. He lets the wind rush through his ears for a moment before they level off, floating right above the Earth Sector. )}

Much better.

[charmspeaks]

[Piper wraps her other arm around his neck, holding on tight - not too tight - as they speed upwards, into the sky. It's the best up here. She might not feel the same about being in the air as Jason does, but she definitely has a fine appreciation for it.]

It looks so beautiful from up here.

[DATED TO AROUND THE TIME OF FANCY DATE SHENANIGANS......]

[It's only on voice for now and there's a slight edge in Annabeth's tone.] Please tell me you're there.

[charmspeaks]

[Well that's not a good sound. Cue instant worrying.] Annabeth?

[She exhales a little.] Thank gods. I'm fine, I mean - it's stupid, really, in the grand scheme of things. [PAUSE....] Percy's being ridiculous about fish, and I don't really know how to be fancy.

[Yeah that was very explanatory, A++ Annabeth.]

[charmspeaks]

[A beat, and it's obvious that she's trying to not laugh.] Percy is always ridiculous about fish. How fancy are we talking here?

[sophos]

[No omgs why are you laughing at her she is in a panic!!] I don't even think he knows. At least not enough to give me details. But I have a dress, apparently? [She might already be wearing it and that is about as far as she got in the whole get fancy process.] It's some stupid fish emergency in some stupid 'fancy' - thing that we have to do in about an hour. [AN HOUR IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO PLAN AND CONSIDER WHAT TO DO halp.]

[charmspeaks]

[Well, Piper knows the details, but she did tell Percy she wouldn't say anything. Decisions.] Apparently? [Don't laugh, Piper. Don't laugh.] Must be some rich fish that you need to get all dressed up for.

[Come on, Annabeth. You're smart.] First, take a deep breath. [Even though they're not really in the same room, Piper puts some of her power into her voice.] Everything will be okay. You don't have any reason to freak out.

Atlanteans. [She says this like it explains everything.] I don't even know what kind of fish! Except it's some kind of fancy place and some kind of investigation.

[We're just going to magically pretend it worked anyway!! At least enough to calm her down a bit, and she actually does take a deep breath before speaking.] All I have is the dress. Aren't I supposed to, like, I don't know - do other things? [Not that Piper knows much more than Annabeth does, but she had to freak out to someone.]

[charmspeaks]

Did you ask Percy what kind of fish? I don't know, it's his thing. That seems like something you should have asked. [Nope, not grinning. Thank the gods this is voice. She doesn't know if she'd be able to bite her tongue.]

I don't know? Let me think about what my mother would do. She'd probably talk about a million different hairstyles and how browns are definitely your color in eye makeup [:| which Piper annoyingly knows because cosmetic abilities, yippee] and the kind of perfumes that will drive your man crazy. [A beat.] Just be you, Annabeth. I don't think Percy cares about how fancy you look, no matter where you go.

[sophos]

I haven't gotten an answer yet. He's being stupidly vague. [Which really, should be a warning in of itself.] Why do you sound so amused? [SHE CAN HEAR IT..........]

[Annabeth groans.] No, please, let's not think about what your mother would do. [It's not even a date as far as she knows!! But the latter bit, that helps more. She slumps over at the console, resting her chin on her arms.] I know he doesn't. I know that. This is just so dumb. [But herself ok she can do that. Even with a super short time to plan. It's probably the lack of time that's getting her the most anxious.]

[charmspeaks]

I'm imagining you in a dress. [That's not a lie, okok.] I bet you look really pretty, though. Even if it's a funny idea.

Hey, not that I like her advice all the time, but sometimes... She's not so bad. [There are worse parents, Piper thinks.] You're working yourself up over nothing. Go out, have fun on your fancy investigation over fish. Be you.

[huffpuff.] I'm already wearing it. But it's not the first time.

[She just... lets go of the Aphrodite bit for now, because she is not in the mood to talk about the goddess of love and beauty rn. But she sighs. Piper's right, and she knows it; maybe she just needed to hear someone else say it.] Maybe I'll get lucky and a fight will break out. [It's only half joking.]

[charmspeaks]

Hey, do you want me to follow you guys and charmspeak a few people into fighting for you? [Piper knows that once Annabeth gets there and sees what's happening, she'll be fine. But she'll still do this for her friend.]

[sophos]

Tempting. Really tempting. [She sighs again, and it turns into a groan.] I should go find - shoes or something.

[charmspeaks]

I'd say send me an IM if you want it, but I'm guessing that I'll probably not incite any riots tonight. [A beat.] Wear something sensible. You know, just in case.

[sophos]

[There's a pause, while she thinks.] I have old comfy sandals. From a masquerade here. [She's like 90% sure they're in her closet. Somewhere.]

[charmspeaks]

Those would work perfectly. [She guesses. Right???]

[Even the uncertain confirmation halps!!! PIPER HERSELF IS A GREAT HALP.] I should go look.

[A pause.] Um. Thanks. [For you know being a reassurance and calming her above anything else.]

[charmspeaks]

I'm here for you anytime, Annabeth. You know that.

[There's a smile in her tone.] Yeah, I do. Thank you. [Decidedly less awkward gratitude this time around.]
